Drawn by VPLP Design — the naval architects behind some of the fastest multihulls afloat — and finished by Christophe Chedal Anglay of CCA Design, the VMG 53 Regatta pairs a genuinely competitive sail plan with an interior that feels less like a yacht and more like a coastal residence under way.

At 17.22 meters with an 8.8-meter beam, she carries her power with composure. A 107 m² square-top North Sails 3Di Ocean mainsail, a self-tacking staysail and a 255 m² gennaker give her the range to slip quietly through an evening passage or stretch her legs on a hard-pressed regatta leg.

The VMG 53 Regatta is, quite simply, a fast boat you can live aboard — and a comfortable one you can race.

A boat you actually live in.

The saloon is the heart of the hull — large enough to serve as lounge, dining room, forward helm station and cinema all at once. Bi-fold doors open the adjoining on-deck suite into the space when the occasion calls for it, and a pass-through hatch from the sail pit connects directly to the galley, keeping cooking part of the conversation rather than separate from it. The aft deck extends the living space further still, with dining for eight and a summer kitchen that brings everything to hand. On the VMG 53, the communal spaces don't sit alongside the sailing — they're woven into it.

Configured for whoever's aboard.

Five distinct sleeping spaces adapt naturally to whoever is making up the crew. The port hull suite is the most generously stored cabin aboard, connected directly through to the adventure locker for seamless access between the cabin and the water. The starboard cabin converts between a queen double and two singles, making it equally at home for couples, crew or children. The on-deck suite sits at deck level with instant privacy via VMG Smart Glass — as useful for a captain as it is for an owner wanting an afternoon to themselves. And the central cabin, accessed via the sail pit, gives crew or a professional captain a fully self-contained space of their own, without crossing the guest areas.

Finished as well as it sails.

The interior is the work of CCA, and the detail carries through to every surface, latch and drawer. Veneer-faced cabinetry conceals the galley's refrigeration; custom joinery hides the waste; and the navigation station draws together traditional charting space and fully integrated digital systems in a single, naturally lit workspace. Features like the tender garage, VMG Smart Glass and the adventure locker each deserve a closer look — but together they point to a boat that has been resolved from the inside out, not just shaped for the water.
