The VMG 53 offers three helm stations, two aft and one protected inside the saloon — ensuring the right place to steer in every condition.
| |
|---|---|
Forward helm | Central and protected; swappable seat shared with Nav; 800 mm carbon wheel on an articulating Jefa pedestal with footrest; one-touch 360° clearing smart glass; immediate sail pit access to starboard |
Position & Proximity | The forward helm is the most connected position on the boat, within arm’s reach of the sail pit, navigation station and on-deck suite. This helm is the natural choice for an owner sailing short-handed. |
Forward electronics | Twin B&G 16” SRX chartplotters; Vesper VHF and AIS standard; optional Nemesis overhead displays; powered sail, autopilot and engine controls |
Aft helms | 700 mm carbon wheels on multi-angle steering platforms; one-touch 360° clearing smart glass, custom settee, fold-out footrest for added comfort |
Aft electronics | 12” or 15” B&G ultrawide chartplotters; autopilot controller; powered sail controls; optional engine controls; USB and MagSafe charging |
Command & Safety | Every helm a true central command station; on-deck-cabin crew can reach sail controls in seconds in an emergency |
Aft helms — sailing at the water’s edge
The twin helms place the helmsman at the outer edge of the boat, combining carbon steering wheels, integrated sail controls and expansive B&G displays into a comfortable, fully equipped sailing station.

Forward helm — command, under cover
The protected forward helm brings full control inside the saloon, combining panoramic visibility, integrated B&G systems and immediate access to the sail pit for confident passagemaking in any conditions.

Safety, measured in seconds
The three-helm layout is designed for confidence and control. Keeping the crew protected, connected to the sail controls, and ready to respond instantly in any conditions.

Most boats ask you to compromise on helm position. The VMG 53 simply gives you the right helm for the moment — exposed and engaging, or protected and centralized.
